CET (Civil Engineering Technician)

We are seeking a talented and experienced CET (Civil Engineering Technician) to join our team. As a CET, you will play a vital role in supporting our civil engineering projects by utilizing your expertise in CAD, surveying, fieldwork, and construction inspection. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. While a CET certificate is not required for this position, relevant experience and knowledge in the field are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • CAD Design: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist in the creation and modification of engineering drawings, plans, and technical illustrations. Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate representation of project specifications.
  • Surveying: Conduct land surveys and measurements using surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors. Establish control points, collect data points, and assist in producing accurate survey reports.
  • Fieldwork: Perform field inspections and assessments of construction sites to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to address any issues or deviations promptly.
  • Construction Inspection: Conduct inspections of construction projects to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to engineering standards. Identify any deficiencies or deviations from plans and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze survey data, construction plans, and other technical information to identify potential design or construction problems. Collaborate with the engineering team to propose effective solutions and modifications as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of survey data, inspection reports, and project documentation. Prepare concise and detailed reports summarizing findings, observations, and recommendations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with project teams, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and goals. Collaborate with team members to facilitate smooth project execution.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in CAD design, surveying, fieldwork, and construction inspection within the civil engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying equipment and techniques, including total stations, GPS devices, and data collectors.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Civil Engineering Technician certificate or a related field (preferred but not required).
